U.S. officials said B-2 bombers were deployed to the Pacific island of Guam before the operation.
Around 8 p.m. ET, former President Donald Trump released a statement on his Truth Social platform, declaring that “very successful” airstrikes had been conducted on key Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
Trump emphasised that a “full payload of BOMBS” had been dropped on the primary target, the Fordow site. He also confirmed that all aircraft involved in the operation were safely returning, adding, “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”
The president is scheduled to address the nation at 10 p.m. ET.
